POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

Job Title:         Pro Shop Attendant and Golf Pro               

Department:    Golf Course

                                               

GENERAL PURPOSE  

 

Provide high quality customer service to the golfing public, perform assigned golf operational activities.

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

 

Works under the supervision of the Village Clerk.

 

SUPERVISION EXERCISED

 

May exercise supervision over seasonal pro shop employees.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Coordinates assigned activities and functions relating to golf operations in accordance with Village policies.  These activities include starting functions such as taking reservations and assigning the play of golfers, collecting green fees, golf cart rental, scheduling and coordinating golf tournaments and other special activities, accounting for all fees, promoting and supervising the Handicap systems, and assisting in the development and implementation of marketing programs.

 

Supervises and train assigned staff.

 

Enforces all rules and regulations governing the use of the golf course, golf carts and facilities.

 

Coordinates and performs specialized projects, or operations work as needed.

 

Prepares financial reports as required.

 

Maintenance and cleaning of golf carts.

 

Empty trash on the course as needed.

 

Maintain the ball washers.

 

Plant and maintain flowerbeds.

 

Pick up balls on the driving range, in fields, trees or left on course.

 

Performs related work as required.

 

Keeping up the clubhouse.

 

Helping run Men’s and Ladies’ Leagues.

 

Maintain handicaps for all interested golfers.

 

Ability to hold a Liquor License with the State of Nebraska Liquor Commission.

 

PERIPHERAL DUTIES

 

Ensures equipment is in proper working order and the required maintenance is being performed.

 

Responds to customer inquiries, complaints, etc.

 

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education and Experience:

 

  1. Business retail experience.

 

  1. Extensive knowledge of rules and regulations governing golf and the handicap system, golf course promotion and marketing.

 

  1. Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

 

Knowledge and Abilities:

 

  1. Good oral and written skills to effectively communicate with the public and maintain working relationships with the public, employees, Village officials and community groups.

 

  1. Ability to effectively coordinate and supervise all activities, including tee times, pro shop services.

 

  1. Ability to exercise discretion, tact and diplomacy at all times.

 

  1. Ability to interpret and analyze information, explain pertinent policies and procedures and establish and maintain accurate records.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, etc.
